Skin Irregularities Treatment

The medical term for skin tag is acrochordon or fibroepithelial polyp.  They are benign skin lesions composed of normal skin tissue and fat.  These fleshy little bumps are annoying but generally not a cause for panic.

How does the treatment work?

Special probes regulate the application of high frequency directly on the skin’s surface.  This technology enables qualified professionals to treat minor skin irregularities without penetrating the surface of the skin.  High frequency produces heat at the probe which causes the tissue to coagulate and discontinue blood flow and nutrition to the irregularity.

 

Is treatment painful?

The discomfort level experienced is tolerable with the sensation feeling much like a tight pinch, bee sting or hot prick to the skin.  The average person rates their discomfort level between a 3 - 5 on a scale of 1-10.  A numbing cream can be applied.

How long does the treatment take?

Treatments take only a few seconds for each irregularity and typically only one treatment is necessary, however, results may vary.  Results are instantaneous for many conditions while other conditions will crust and heal within 1 – 2 weeks.
